Note: the Daily Mail article said we can help "any couple". This is not true. We need to assess each case individually.
"I thought IVF was going to be the answer to my fertility problems, but it's just left me emotionally, physically and financially spent. I'm beginning to lose hope that I'll ever have a child"
How to make a baby the happy way, without any hormone injections, operations to collect your eggs, meltdowns or bankruptcies. The Proven system to get pregnant, have oodles of energy, keep your sanity, and feel like a million dollars.
Our neuroscience based programme has more than double the success rate of IVF - 67% vs 31%
It's 100% natural and has no nasty side effects
Many of our patients feel better than they've ever felt.
It's less expensive than one round of IVF (The average UK couple pays £11,378 according to research by Fertility Network UK). One in 10 couples in the UK spend over £30,000 on IVF.
In order to qualify for this programme you must fulfil certain criteria.
You must be:
- under 44 and have unexplained infertility (this is where ALL the medical tests come back completely normal).
- under 40 with only one or two minor fertility issues (eg. slight hormone imbalance, polycystic ovaries, slightly lowered sperm count).
If that's you then click the link below and watch the free training to find out how to apply:
"I’d pretty much given up on having a second child… I was deeply sceptical at first"
At age 43, and after 3 years of trying for a second child, Anna was shocked to find out she was pregnant with Ludo. But it was the changes in "my own sanity and physical health" that really kept her coming back for treatment with us. She tells her story in the video below.
"I tried for years and years. Finally with the acupuncture I succeeded"
- Katie Lancashire
"I feel like I should ask for my money back. I only asked for one. I am now Super fertile and have baby number 2 on the way!". Our patient Katie talks about how acupuncture helped her to have a family.
My name is Michael Arnold. I have 15 years experience in Five Element Acupuncture. I also hold a degree in Neuroscience.
I've put together a unique programme for couples with unexplained infertility. 67% of my patients fall pregnant within 6 months.
How it all began
A few years ago I was at a consultation day with a friend and mentor of mine. These are amazing days where patients travel from around the UK to get help. I clearly remember how three women in a row told their story of struggling to conceive a child.
What struck me was how all three had been led to believe that IVF was going to be the answer to their problems. They had all had multiple IVF attempts (in one case 4 rounds) and all had come out with nothing to show. But it was worse than that. Not only did they have nothing to show (except a very large bill) but they were all left traumatised by the experience. None of them had expected the physical and emotional exhaustion and turmoil that follows one, never mind three or four rounds of IVF.
This experience really brought home a few things to me:
- Thousands of couples are rushed into expensive IVF treatments only to come out with nothing except upset and exhaustion.
- Most people aren't aware that there are evidence based, natural alternatives that can be just as effective if not more so.
- These therapies make you feel better, not worse! There is also evidence that they increase your chances of IVF working, should this prove necessary.
- There must be a way to get this message out there!
"I had been told it might be difficult due to my polycystic ovaries. Within two sessions I fell pregnant."
"I had used Michael over the years mainly for stress and always had good results. My partner and I had been trying to conceive for around nine months when I decided that I should try acupuncture again. Within two sessions I fell pregnant. I do believe it unblocked something and also helped me feel very relaxed so the combination made the right environment. I had been told it might be difficult due to my polycystic ovaries.
I went to Michael for acupuncture almost every month during my pregnancy especially for back pain. In one session I felt the energy run up my back which was amazing. During the last six weeks of my pregnancy I had no back pain at all amazing! I even wanted to use acupuncture during labour as pain relief. But our Daughter didn't want to wait and arrived perfectly at week 39.

Being a woman in your 30’s and early 40’s is no easy task. You’re trying to make it in your career - arriving at work early and leaving late, and probably earning less than your male colleagues (income equality? what’s that?).
You’re also trying to start a family, without letting on to your boss that you’re going to be going on maternity leave sometime soon. Yes feminism may have made a start but there is still a long way to go in today’s workplace.
Your parter wants a child too and he does his best to be supportive. “Don’t worry. Just try and relax. It’ll happen.” He’s well meaning but he can’t really understand it when you’re period comes again and you sob with frustration and anguish. He’s doing his best but his mind works in a practical, rational manner. He wants to solve the problem but he doesn’t realise that at that moment you just need to be heard and held.
If you’re a man reading this you may have noticed this frustration when you focus on practical solutions. I’ve had to learn the hard way that this is usually not the best way to help my partner when she’s upset.
I have a huge admiration and respect for the woman who come to my clinic. They are doing an incredible job of keeping it all together. Their relationship, their career, their huge desire to have a child that they can’t really talk to anyone about. The sense of isolation and the feeling that nobody really understands what they’re going through.
Imagine if being a great mother got you as much respect and admiration in our society as being a great footballer, or a film star. What greater gift is there to give to a child and yet what a thankless role. Yes society’s values are completely topsy turvy. As the saying goes: “Do not adjust your TV, there is a fault in reality.”
This is all very well you may be saying “but what can I do to help myself in this situation?” The bills still need to get paid and this baby’s not going to make itself. Well very often just to recognise that you are under a lot of conflicting pressures is the arising of a new way of being.
Just to see that this is an extremely difficult situation and that you are doing the best you can. It’s so easy to give yourself a hard time. We do it all the time. “Oh well Suzanne is coping much better. I should be able to manage this.” The hard time that we give ourselves is actually a large part of the pressure we feel. Not to mention a huge cause of strain on the body.
Research shows how acupuncture affects the brain and reduces cortisol levels
When I was studying Neuroscience at University I did my 3rd year dissertation on acupuncture research. I found several studies that looked at the changes in brain chemistry when people and animals have acupuncture. This is particularly interesting when you look at animals because they are not susceptible to placebo.
Here's a link to an article from Time Magazine that shows how acupuncture affects the brain.
And here's a link to research that shows how the stress hormone, cortisol, significantly reduces IVF success. (Source: American National Library of Medicine.)
NEUROSCIENCE BASED APPROACH
As well as 15 years experience in Five Element Acupuncture I hold a degree in Neuroscience. I have found that there is one area that is consistently overlooked by other fertility professionals. Namely, how your brain sends “pregnancy lockdown” signals to your body and how it will continue to do so unless you address this problem.
During periods of physical or mental stress, a chemical in the brain called cortisol is released. Increased cortisol levels has been shown to inhibit the burst of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), which triggers ovulation. This means that if you are stressed for an extended period of time you may not ovulate every month.
Overproduction of Cortisol due to stress can also leads to increased levels of estrogen. Elevated estrogen is a major cause of symptoms such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis and recurrent miscarriage.
Cortisol also inhibits Testosterone. In men it is testosterone that stimulates the production of healthy sperm. So reduced testosterone can have huge consequences on sperm count and quality.
To summarise: release of the stress hormone cortisol, upsets the balance of your fertility hormones and can dramatically reduce your fertility.
Does this sound familiar? Many doctors will acknowledge the effects of stress on fertility but they don’t have any answers for it. They’ll most likely say something like “Just go home and relax”
The link between increased stress and reduced fertility has been established scientifically, as this article shows:
However how do we use this information to help boost fertility? Its all very well saying you need to relax but if it were that easy you probably wouldn't be reading this right now.
This article shows how acupuncture actually changes the behaviour of your stress hormones:

"I CONSIDER MYSELF VERY LUCKY TO HAVE CONCEIVED AFTER 3 MONTHS OF ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT”
“I was able to enjoy my life through an entirely new perspective. One really important thing I managed to do was to SLOW DOWN in all aspects of my life, and just let go. My sisters noticed a massive change in my personality and were very pleased for me. I consider myself very lucky to have conceived after 3 months of acupuncture treatment,”

The first step is our 8 week Neuroscience of Fertility Programme.
To find out how to apply you can watch the seminar here:
WE ARE NOW ONLY TAKING ON PEOPLE WHO COMMIT TO A SIX MONTH PROGRAMME
This is because our statistics show that the people who commit to at least six months of treatment are the ones who get the best results. Once you've completed the first 8 weeks the next step is to sign up for the full six month programme.
Pregnant in Six Months Programme Details:
WEEK 1: INITIAL ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS
Our first session with you lasts two hours. We take a detailed medical and personal history in order to get the full picture we need to give you the best treatment possible. Most medical assessments miss out on major factors that affect fertility, including emotional and physical stressors, diet, exercise and spiritual wellbeing. We then put together a plan based on what you need as an individual. There is no one size fits all solution. In this session you will also have your first treatment with Five Element Acupuncture.
The aim of Five Element Acupuncture is to find the "Causative factor". This is the root cause of any imbalance in your system. It is the weak area, or "Achilles heal". Once we identify and treat this area, this is best treatment we can do in this system of medicine. You can only be as strong as the weakest link in the chain.

He subsequently qualified with a Licentiate in Acupuncture in 1996 from the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), Leamington Spa and his strong scientific background has been invaluable over many years in developing a rigorous, reflective and evolving practice.
David is a senior member of the advanced practitioner study group Wider Horizons mentored by Niki Bilton, Canada. He spent many valuable years interning with the founder of CTA, JR Worsley before his death and was an early faculty member of the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA), London. Before relocating to Brighton in 2000 David worked for 3 years on the first ever NHS acupuncture contract at Kings College Hospital, London. He has also previously run ShuHaRi, a mentoring group for junior acupuncture practitioners, led a successful men’s group in Brighton and is a qualified Life Coach.
WEEK 2 - 5: WEEKLY ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT AND A NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT
During this phase the Five Element Acupuncture treatment starts to take effect. Most people start to notice changes such as a greater sense of peace and aliveness. Others say that situations that used to cause stress just don't impact them in the same way any more. Others experience changes such as a more regular menstrual cycle or less pain or emotional disturbance associated with their menstrual cycle.
We also recommend you to see our nutritionist and fertility expert Yvonne Bishop-Weston. Yvonne uses cutting edge biochemical tests to find out what exact nutrients are missing from your body. Yvonne has written several books on nutrition and appears frequently on TV for her expertise in fertility nutrition.
WEEK 6 - 12: MINDFULNESS TECHNIQUES, ONGOING ACUPUNCTURE AND NUTRITIONAL GUIDANCE
During this phase we continue to help you create optimum health, optimum fertility and increased vitality using Five Element Acupuncture and ongoing nutritional guidance. We also teach you powerful mindfulness techniques and spiritual practices that help you to become aware of negative thought patterns that influence your health and happiness.
Many people are plagued with feelings that they aren't doing enough or that they're not good enough.
"Have I left it too late to start a family?"
"Am I doing everything I can to improve my fertility? Maybe I shouldn't have had that glass of wine. Maybe I just need to be more focused."
If we start to believe in these thoughts, they can take over our life. Every little action is evaluated as to whether it will increase or decrease your fertility. These thoughts can dominate your reality and create a lot of stress and unhappiness. Ironically this stress actually reduces your fertility.
One mindfulness technique we teach you can instantly create a feeling of space between you and your thoughts. You start to recognise that these are just thoughts. You don't have to believe everything they say. This is the beginning of true freedom.
WEEK 12 - 26: EFFORTS START TO PAY OFF
At this stage many people notice feeling very different in themselves. The regular acupuncture, nutritional guidance and mindfulness techniques start to pay off with noticeable differences in your experience of life.
"Discovering five element acupuncture and especially working with Michael has had the most beneficial effect on my life. I feel centred, grounded and ready to take on anything that comes my way." - Mark Colin
At this stage you may well have fallen pregnant. If this is the case we continue to support you to ensure your pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible. Five element Acupuncture can help to reduce morning sickness, fatigue and back pain, that are commonly associated with pregnancy. Research also shows that a relaxed and healthy mum means a happier and healthier baby.
"Having our two boys is nothing short of miraculous"
"When I first visited you we had been trying to start a family for a few years with a number of early pregnancy losses. I came to the clinic as a last resort so we could feel that we had done everything we could before moving on (we had decided that we weren't interested in IVF). I was very sceptical that it would work. Within a week of starting acupuncture I felt much more energetic, motivated and on an even keel emotionally. A few weeks later and I found out I was pregnant. I continued with acupuncture throughout my pregnancy and had a very easy pregnancy, and a normal birth. We had a healthy baby boy.
Over the next three or so years we tried to add to our family, however we lost more babies early. We happened to be back in London for a few months and so I got in touch with Michael. "No pressure", I said, "but we'd love to have another baby. You've got five months!" Again I became pregnant within a matter of weeks and had another completely straightforward pregnancy. We now have two gorgeous healthy boys who are flourishing. We are so grateful to Michael for his help and expertise in enabling us to complete our family. Words really can't express how thankful we are and we feel that having these boys is nothing short of miraculous.”
- Pam Aldersley
Now included in 2017 programme:
- All nutritional tests, including cortisol hormone and mineral level tests
- Nutritional consultations with leading UK fertility nutritionist
- Weekly online fertility seminars on maximising your fertility using energy release techniques, powerful stress reduction techniques, and optimum nutrition.
- Weekly check ins with Michael. Michael is no longer able to take on patients one-to-one. However in these sessions he will give you personal guidance. These sessions ensure you are 100% supported to keep you on track and overcome obstacles that come up.

67% of our patients with unexplained infertility fall pregnant within 6 months.
If you don't have unexplained infertility or you're over 40, we do have other treatment options. I recently helped one woman to have her first child at age 39 and her second at age 43. There are more factors at play here but we do often see results.
If you think you'd like to take up this opportunity, the first step is to come for a free consultation so we can decide if you're suitable and you can decide if it's right for you.

I look forward to meeting you.
In the article below another of our patients (Amrit) talks about her struggle to conceive and how she finally became a mum.
